Waterotor operates (generates electricity) in slow moving water. Where no other, in-water technology has been proven, below 6.5 mph. Waterotor’s consume no fuel, generate no emissions during operation, have low ecological impact, and can be used to replace technologies that generate CO2 and other greenhouse gases and pollutants. The small 1,000 watt Waterotor is meant to be deployed as a standalone unit.
The Waterotor is simple to operate, making Waterotor a leading-edge technology for regions with little infrastructure or technological skill. They are also easy to maintain. Waterotor’s vast early market arena includes coastal communities, remote ocean islands, and isolated rural sites in developing countries. Typically, in such cases, electricity is unavailable due to the cost of supplying fuel to remote areas or is very expensive. Most of the world outside North America, if on diesel power are paying $0.75+ per kWh or more for electricity.
